Why do you need your own printer profile?
If you have already printed images on a Bubble-Jet printer then you know that the colour reproduction on the manufacturer’s paper is generally good. However they don’t exactly match. Individual colours don’t match the monitor’s image or the printout is too light or too dark. The problem becomes even more dramatic when ink or paper from a third manufacturer is used.

Why the restriction of Bubble-Jet printer with the original driver from the manufacturer?
Currently Bubble-Jet printers of the commercial kind are the only ones whose printer drivers allow certain colour adjustments to be shut off. In the printer driver the ink assignment is influenced by the paper and resolution selection and the translation of the CMYK or CcMmYK printer colours is taken from a set algorithm or a spread sheet in the driver.
Meanwhile in the drivers of some laser printers or exposures(?) it is also possible to shut off the colour adjustment. We cannot guarantee that the thus created profiles will actually work until we conduct a conclusive test.
If the printer is activated through a RIP, then it is necessary to have some feedback because many RIPs need a so-called linearization prior to profiling whose processing is based on the individual RIP.

Requirements
For the right colour reproduction through an ICC profile, you will need a programm which is capable of coordinating the images using an ICC profile before processing. Programmes which are capable of doing this are Adobe Photoshop starting with version 5.5 (only a full version), Corel Draw 10, Illustrator (newer versions), PageMaker (starting with version 6.0) and many more. The adjustments for the test charts production and the later image print are prepared for Photoshop 6.0. We ask for your understanding that we cannot accept responsibility for false printer settings when printing out the charts. Furthermore, the profiles, based on the received printouts, are created using modern measurement technology. The support and consultation for individual system configurations are not included in the price for the creation of a profile. If these are needed, then we must refer you to our training programmes and individual consultations which we offer at reasonable prices.
