Flicker is crucial KPI for the performance and safety of ADAS applications
The IEEE-2020 standard has established a series of KPIs to evaluate the performance of ADAS applications. One of these KPIs is flicker, which is caused by the modulation of the illumination in the scene captured by a camera.
Due to the dynamic nature of flickering light, it can often be challenging to evaluate in a test lab setting. At the recent AutoSens Europe in Barcelona, we presented different light sources that can generate flicker in the comfort of a test lab.
Light Sources for Flicker Testing
We offer various solutions for evaluating flicker performance
Our Vega light source has advanced flicker generation capabilities. It uses DC technology and extremely high stability to assess the flicker response of camera systems with very short exposure times.
We also offer the LG3 illumination box, which uses LED technology to generate flickering light. When combined with transparent OECF test charts, the LG3 greatly expands the test area for dynamic range measurements.
