Question 1

New features

Accepted Answer

- UI editor for the most important model configuration parameters:

Edit the available default configurations in the UI and save the modified configurations

easily as user configurations. The latter are then directly available in the

configuration menu.

- Added new configruation files for GEOCAL laser wavelengths 638nm and for the

GEOCAL IR with 935nm.

- Added option IMAGE_FIELD for the configuration entry :

Unit="GRID_ORDER" works as in version < 1.5.0, that means the maximum radius (1.0) is

defined as the relative distance of the detected grid point with biggest radial distance

to the 0th order grid point.

Unit="IMAGE_FIELD": the maximum radius (1.0) is defined as the relative distance from

the corners of the image to the center of the image.

- Import / export of detected grid points:

The detected grid points of the GEOCAL image can be saved as CSV files. Such files can

be imported as new detecion data for an analysis.

- Field of View (FoV) calculation for alle distortion models: FoV in horizontal, vertical

and diagonal direction.

- Optional rre-calculation of the focal length:

A more precise focal estimation can be run before the distortion parameter calculation.

- New "HDR" algorithm for merging two images with different exposures

- Logging functionality:

Displays information, warnings and errors in the UI and saves it to a log file

- New command line interface (CLI): Allows to use batch scripts for automated analysis of

multiple images and/or configurations.

- Implemented new Rational Function Distortion Model and the OpenCV Rational model

- Undistort function: Choose a measurement result and load any image to undistort it. The

resulting image can be saved to disk. This feature supports the Even-Brown and the

Fisheye model.

- New RMSE statistics with respect to region (radius restriction for field of view in the

image plane) and to quantiles of the RMSE deviation. For example, a 98% quantile

excludes 2% of the points with the greates deviation in RMSE. The statistics can be

edited in the configuration files.

- The units of the resulting distotion parameters can be calculated as physical units

of the sensor size. The known pixel pitch can be entered in the configuration files in

the entry in units of µm.

- Support of PGM file format

- Abort button for running detection and analysis

- Option for connecting detection and analysis procedure: in version 1.4 detection of grid.

points and subsequent analysis were separated, now both can be combined into one workflow

- New result overview in addition to the result table.
