    Product Overview

The CAL2 is a small and compact light source that uses iQ-LED V2 technology to illuminate a 60 mm x 60 mm opening for camera testing and calibration. It is particularly suited for integration into production lines.

iQ-LED V2 technology is a light source that is capable of generating custom spectra to replicate various light sources in a test lab environment. The CAL2 has one iQ-LED V2 element built into it that uses 20 LED-channels to recreate almost any light spectrum for your camera testing.

The CAL2 has a unique design for easily integration into production lines as well as other testing areas or labs where space is limited. The spectrometer used for calibrating the CAL2 is separate from the light source (where as in our other CAL products, it is built-in) so that a single spectrometer can calibrate separate CAL2 devices to save space. This feature is especially important for production line calibration. Even without an integrating sphere design, this device still achieves uniformity of > 96%.

The 60 mm x 60 mm opening of the CAL2 allows certain devices such as cellphones to calibrate multiple camera modules at one time. If the image processing of the camera is fast enough, a complete camera calibration can be done in less than a second. There is also a new diffuser plate that has better Lambertian characteristics as opposed to the first generation-device.

The CAL2 uses a mini-spectrometer with a spectral range of 350 – 860 nm to ensure better spectral resolution and higher sensitivity.

iQ-LED control software is provided with the CAL2. An iQ-LED API is also available as an option for integration into your custom design.

    Key Benefits

    iQ-LED light source

The CAL2 is an integrating sphere that uses iQ-LED technology to generate custom spectra for more accurate and flexible camera testing.

    High uniformity

The CAL3 achieves >95% illumination uniformity in the active chart area.

    Production Line Calibration

The compact design of the CAL3 makes it suitable for integrating into a production line for camera calibration.

    Luminance and color shading

Our CAL devices can be used to measure luminance and perform color shading measurements.

    Software and APIs

CAL3 can be controlled using the iQ-LED control software, and we also offer an iQ-LED API.

    CAL2 - Basic

As a basic setup, you can also choose to have the CAL2 delivered without a spectrometer* and instead have a device with preconfigured illuminants. These illuminants must be individually requested (up to 40) and programmed into your device before delivery.

This possibility significantly reduces the total cost of the product and is an excellent option for new or smaller test labs looking to upgrade their image quality testing.

Please contact our sales department to get started with a basic product.

*A spectrometer can be purchased at a later date if desired.

    Use Case

Built for Seamless Use on Modern Production Lines

The CAL2 is a compact light source designed for seamless integration into production lines where space is limited. Despite its small footprint, it delivers exceptional illumination uniformity of over 96%, ensuring reliable and repeatable calibration results.
