The design of the CAL3 consists of one spectral programmable iQ-LED element in a 0.29 m integrating sphere that illuminates a 38 mm concave curved luminous surface. A uniformity of more than 96 % is possible due to the non-reflective diffusor filter on the opening of the sphere.
The CAL3 contains a micro-spectrometer, both of which are easy to control with the iQ-LED software or, if upgraded with the iQ-LED C++ API, integrate the CAL3 into your specific test procedures.
With CAL3 you only need one device for all light sources or standard illuminants such as A, D50, D65, or any other standard light source or self-generated spectra.
The primary objectives of the CAL3 are camera calibration, defective pixels determination, luminance and color shading measurement, exposure adjustment, and much more. It can also be used to determine the variations in spectral sensitivity of a batch of devices by activating each of the 20 narrow band color channels, creating quick individual color calibrations.
As a result of the very short response time of the iQ-LED, a full calibration can be performed in a few seconds, as long as the image processing and transfer in the camera is quick enough.
The CAL3 uses a new mini spectrometer that has a better spectral resolution, higher sensitivity and a spectral range of 350 - 870 nm.
