The security and video surveillance camera industry has experienced exponential growth over the last few decades. Most public spaces are now under surveillance for public safety, and more cameras are installed daily. As a result, developers need to test the image quality performance of their systems to ensure high functionality and safety.
In 2018, the IEC technical committee TC79 officially published the first internationally recognized security camera and video surveillance performance standard. The standard, IEC 62676-5, provides an in-depth outline of the performance thresholds that the camera and video systems must attain to be considered acceptable for public/consumer use.
These thresholds are analyzed by testing the system for key performance indicators (KPIs) established in the standard, including dynamic range, low-light performance, infrared performance, resolution, and geometric distortion. Grayscale test chart
TE297 is a grayscale test chart ideal for testing cameras with a wide dynamic range, including security cameras following IEC 62676-5. It uses 36 patches in a circular shape to minimize shading/vignetting errors and is optimized for testing for high-end camera systems with wide dynamic range requirements.

TE269C
OECF test chart
A 36-patch OECF test chart with high stability and additional steps to address the higher density levels. High dynamic ranges up to 1.000.000:1 / 120 dB are attainable using this chart, and the “C” version has been adapted to the standard IEC 62676-5 requirements.
