Simulate Bright Sunlight in a Test Lab

‍‍‍‍‍Arcturus introduces a new light source with extremely high intensity and consistency

Arcturus and Vegas

Today’s image sensors and high dynamic range configurations make testing at or close to sensor saturation challenging. With Arcturus, we can generate more than enough intensity to challenge these sensors with a much higher sensitivity than currently possible.  Arcturus can simulate the intensity of bright sunlight illumination with very high stability compared to other light sources. This ability allows camera systems to be evaluated in a test lab more efficiently.

The main benefits of Arcturus include:

  • Maximum illuminance of up to 1 Mcd/m²
  • Flicker-free (DC-driven LED)
  • Extremely high stability and consistency
  • Create real HDR scenes when combining with other Vega devices
  • Change intensity over a vast dynamic range with constant spectrum
  • Control via UI software, API, and Python scripts for Windows and Linux

Arcturus is an excellent solution for testing many of the metrics outlined in the IEEE-P2020 standard, including contrast transfer accuracy (CTA) and flicker (MMP).

‍‍AI-powered test chart detection

‍‍‍‍The latest version of the iQ-Analyzer uses AI tools for more accurate chart detection

iQ-Analyzer-X

iQ-Analyzer-X provides a high-speed analysis and improves testing efficiency by utilizing AI-powered tools to detect test targets accurately. iQ-Analyzer-X is compatible with our most popular test charts, such as our TE42 multipurpose series, where you can evaluate multiple image quality factors in one test image.

Other charts include the Universal Test Target (UTT), a multipurpose test chart for scanners, and our OECF grayscale target series, including TE297 and TE269C. Color charts, such as the TE188 ColorChecker and TE226 HDTV color rendition chart, can also be analyzed using the iQ-Analyzer-X.

Check out all of our iQ-Analyze-X compatible charts using the link below.

Are you new to the iQ-Analyzer-X? We offer a free download version of the software to start your image quality analysis today! Learn more about the free version and request your download on our website.

‍iQ-Lab – IEEE-P2020 testing

‍‍‍‍‍Send your camera systems to our iQ-Lab for professional testing

iQ-Lab

Are you interested in evaluating how your automotive camera system performs using the IEEE-P2020 standard but don’t have the lab space or testing experience? At our image quality test lab in Kerpen, Germany, we regularly work with companies to test their systems. Many of our test lab engineers were directly involved in the development of the P2020 standard, providing our team with a wealth of knowledge and experience when testing systems based on the standard.
